Fall of Giants (The Century Trilogy #1)Fall of Giants by Ken Follett

My rating: 2 of 5 stars

Key takeaways from the book, now that I am
  finally
done with it (phew!)

1. Wars in the past(and most likely the future ones) start for no apparent reason, end when people have forgotten why they are fighting in the first place or they are all simply dead

2. If an author has the gift of gab, then they can make a book as torturous as a war and just like a war, the reader may end up brain dead

3. If you are a published, world renowned author then you can write 1000 pages filled with mind numbing sentences and still end up getting acclaimed reviews and five stars

4. If you are a new author, if you write 1000 pages, you will most likely find your manuscript flung back on your face

5. When another bibliophile warns you that the book is crap, but you still insist on reading it, you have no one to blame but yourself.

And in this case, I am still kicking myself. Ouch. That hurts. But not more than the book.
